Research Associate Helen Hamlyn Centre London, UK — 2007-2008
Chief investigator on a well received research project at the Royal College of Art. The project investigated how emerging technologies could be used to improve the wayfinding experience of visually impaired people. The series of devices and information architecture that resulted from this research have implications that could improve how we all interact with information.
The study was sponsored by the Audi Design Foundation.

Industrial Design Intern Panasonic Osaka, Japan — 2006
Worked as a designer in the Information Equipment and Wiring Devices design group.
Produced an integrated, home automation control system and outlined a series of interaction scenarios, using the product line which this group has developed.
The design greatly simplified the complexity of the previous arrangement and employed many innovations that has informed Panasonic’s future direction for this product.

Product Developer DIY Kyoto London, UK — 2006-2007
Device fabricator and prototype developer for this manufacturer of environment-awareness products. Developed interactive behaviours for Wattson, their successful energy monitoring device.

Design Intern MIT Media Lab Europe Dublin, Ireland — 2004
Worked with the Common Sense group. Involved in the design and production of an interactive public installation that facilitates the exchange of social information. Had a wide range of duties including, electronic circuit and PCB design and the development of a mobile Bluetooth application.
